This lap steel is a very special instrument, having had only one owner and then being passed down to a family member. Confirmed by Gibson USA as being manufactured in 1939, this lap steel is in as close to mint condition as a guitar of this age could be. All parts and components are original, including the case and even the original cable that came included with the guitar. It was purchased brand new in the 1940s by the aforementioned family member, who had used it to teach lap steel in Hawaii at the time. Included with the lap steel is correspondence with Gibson confirming it as being genuine and original, with the details of the prior owner redacted (photos of this communication are included in this listing).
